Continuing Students

Think about what you need to do next semester.

Degree Audit or Progress Report: Log into myACCESS and run your degree audit; review the requirements for your degree or program of study and identify which courses you have already completed and which ones you still need to take.

Current or Previous Degree Plan: Bring a copy of your degree plan or program of study from your previous institution to help the advisor understand your academic background and goals.

Course Selection: Bring a list of possible courses to your meeting or add them to Student Planning. Come prepared to discuss the criteria you used to create your list – your advisor may have additional ideas for you to consider, once you share what is important to you.

Meeting with your advisor to discuss transfer options…

Academic Goals and Major Information: Be clear about your intended major and academic goals at the new institution. This will help your advisor guide you in selecting the right courses and navigating degree requirements.

Questions About Transfer Policies: Prepare any questions you have about the transfer process, including credit evaluation, residency requirements, and how transfer credits will affect your progress toward graduation.

Placement Test Results: If required by the new institution, bring placement test results or be prepared to discuss whether you need to take them.

General Education Requirements: Familiarize yourself with the general education requirements at the new institution and be ready to discuss how your previous coursework fits into these.

Knowledge of Deadlines: Be aware of any important deadlines for registration, credit transfer, and degree planning at the new institution, and bring a list of these dates to discuss with your advisor.
