Access to Online Portals: Make sure you can log in to any required student portals, such as those for registration, advising, or degree planning.

Make sure you can log into your myACCESS account; contact the Student Help Desk to resolve any login issues – (630) 942-2999 or studenthelp@dupage.edu. Consider the issues and questions you want to address and have the list available to discuss at your appointment.

Student ID and Basic Information: Know your student ID number, degree, certificate or program of study and any basic personal details that might be needed.

Placement Test Results: If you’ve taken any placement tests for math, English, or other subjects, have those results ready.

Academic Transcripts: If applicable, have official high school transcripts or any college credits already earned, such as AP or dual enrollment courses sent and evaluated by the Office of Student Records.

Degree Requirements: Review the college catalog or website to understand the basic requirements for your intended major or general education courses.

Personal Goals: Think about your academic and career goals, even if they are still broad or undeveloped. This helps your advisor tailor their guidance to your interests.

Class Schedule Preferences: Consider your preferred schedule, including the times and days you would like to attend classes, and any work or personal commitments that might affect your availability.

Questions and Concerns: Write down any questions or concerns you have about your major, course load, campus resources, or anything else that might be on your mind.

Basic Understanding of Campus Resources: Familiarize yourself with key campus resources like the library, tutoring centers, and student services to ask specific questions.

An Open Mind: Be ready to listen and consider new ideas or perspectives your advisor might offer, especially if you’re still undecided about your major or career path.
